Planning Stage- Liquid made media gallery (graphic design company)

Having all these ideas flood my mind when i have the full creative  freedom of how this will look will make this whole assignment interesting not just how i can put all my ideas onto paper, but how the end product well how the end design will look.

I have decided to do Content Creation for my graphic design label “Liquidmade media”, focusing on Complex Interaction with bits of visual Complexity stuff happening in the mix, so that visitors to my gallery have the ability to not just look at my work but to interact with what they see, since…. well i think a gallery would be boring if there is no interaction. so the plan is to make it fully interaction, leaving people with a lasting memory of my work

background information about Liquidmade media:

Partipating in a Community (Secondlife)

The community i thought to look around was one for newbies to second life, since i feel i can explore other communities later on.

But the one i explored was called  NCI Kuula – New Citizens Incorporated (part of the NCI Land holdings group)

This group is for for beginners, its a educational area to learn how things work in second life, also a place to meet new friends, ask for help when needed.

When i first went in there i had a few people asking if i need help with anything, so its pretty fair to say that its a pretty helpful place.

In this Community there is many things to explore from free stuff to different areas of the place, what is useful is they have huge boards around that show Times for when certain events and classes that is going on

Heres a image of a area of the community:

Protecting Intellectual Property!

“Intellectual property (IP) is an umbrella term used for human innovations and creativity that are capable of being protected under national law and international treaties. IP includes a diverse range of commercial assets from patents for new inventions through to copyright protected artworks”-

In my opinion the permissions doesn’t totally protect IP because the user can easily copy a design, screen shot it an copy it that way, anything is possible not even copyright laws can change some people, but with saying that, yes there is a LOT of creative people scripting, building new and exciting worlds and objects such as chairs, buildings, tables, trees, clothing  on second life,  if it was just permissions that stop others fully stealing/copying ideas then yeah permissions are a safty measure to save your work from being taken without permission.   creators will be careful to put the right permissions on there scripts saying as comments how the next owner or how others can use it, but its all in how the user puts on the permissions on the object or objects.

Permissions on objects (Second Life)

Permissions on objects allows the user to choose whether he/she wants to allow the next owner to change the objects appearance, just be able to copy the object and not modify it at all, and to Transfer also known as “resell/give away” the object or not.

Here’s a description break down on the different levels of permissions (Modify/Copy/Transfer)

Modify- The Next Owner can use the item and is allowed changes to the item such as name, texture, colour, contents, and dimensions.

Copy- The next owner to be able to make unlimited copies.

Transfer- This is also known as “Give away/Resell”. This option gives the next owner the ability to give away or re sell the object themselfs.
